Meet Louie — 8/9 year Medium breed mix — owner surrendered to Sanger Animal Shelter through no fault of his own.
Sweet and gentle, he arrived to us scared but has made HUGE strides and is thriving in his foster home! Tested well (neutral) with other dogs. Louie was most likely kept in the same home and yard with one person his whole life…..
While once he was scared of the leash, he now enjoys leash walks and going out and about in the world to smell things! He loves his foster mom and greets her with happy body wags when she comes home.
When Louie first arrived he acted confused and conflicted when provided with affection, but now he loves to get head scratches and attention.
He is happiest when doing zoomies in the backyard.
The perfect home is nurturing, patient, and committed to helping him continue gain confidence and trust through relationship-based training and positive exposure.
A quiet, easy-going home with a yard would be a great match! Someone who goes on long walks would also be a great match for Mr. Lou.
$250 adoption donation includes neuter, vaccinations, microchip, heartworm and fecal tested (negative) and up to date on monthly preventatives.
