Meet Snowball!
Snowball is a 50 lb Shepherd Mix. 3 year neutered male
Snowball was owner surrendered due to a move (No fault of his own.)
His foster mama absolutely ADORES him. Here is what she has to say:
-He has excellent manners. He doesn't jump on people or furniture or bark when new people come over. We took him to a backyard bbq yesterday with family friends and they commented on how polite and easy going he was.
-He is quiet in the house. As long as he gets the proper exercise he is usually really mellow in the house and seems to just like sleeping/lounging in the same room as me.
He is friendly and interested in new people, I think he just prefers not too much affection at the very start with with new people. He has met our friends and neighbors, been to my dad's nursing home, met random kids on the street when we take him for walks and he has been really good with everyone. He was actually really great on the 4th of July - didn't really react to the fireworks at all, even though we had some going off directly in front of our house.
-I have been running with him regularly and he makes a really excellent running buddy and can go 3+ miles at a time. He is also easy to walk on a leash.
-He is great in the car and seems to enjoy going for rides.
-Confirmed he needs slow dog intros. I introduced him to my friend's cocker spaniel and he was pretty barky at first but towards the end of it we got to the point where the four of us could walk near each other pretty easily. I'm sure that with patience it wouldn't be too much trouble to get him used to a new dog.
He used to live with a large and small dog. Snowball has not been socialized with new dogs much, but has done well with slow intros; in a few minutes he can go from barking, to nice parralel walks — continued proper introductions with known dogs would be beneficial.
More great qualities that include:
Housetrained
Loves playing fetch and with his toys! His toy-drive will help with continued training.
Perfect size, Snowball is smaller than he looks in photos and only about 50-55 lbs — we think he is a cattle dog shepherd mix but that’s only best guess.
$250 adoption donation — includes DHPP, Rabies, Microchip (free lifetime registry), neutered and up to date on dewormer/flea tick meds
