Alaska

Meet Alaska!

Alaska came to us by way of Madera Shelter where she landed as a stray and a new mother with one, one day old baby (Juneau). We quickly got them north to our program!

She has been with us for 7 weeks and an amazing addition to our home, even as a nursing mother. Alaska has also been a surrogate mother to bottle baby puppies Legolas and Aaragorn and she accepted them as her own without hesitation. She is one of the best Mama dogs we have ever rescued!

Alaska is FANTASTIC on leash. She would make a wonderful running partner/skiing buddy.

She is friendly to knew people / strangers and has done well meeting kiddos outside the home.

She is calm in the house.

Alaska is good with other dogs and playful! She could be a great second dog in a home.

Alaska does have a high prey drive — no cats or small critters, but is living with a small blind dog and is gentle with him.
