Rocco was surrendered to HFP after not adjusting well to a newborn in the house. He was given to a family by a friend of a friend at 1 year old and spent the past 2 years with his former family in a home he shared with another dog.
Rocco is very dog-friendly and would do best in a home with another dog. He can be timid/nervous meeting new people so a home that will not require him to interact with tons of strangers/give him the space to adjust at his own pace. He does best if ignored at first and can be offered treats.
Crate-trained; Housetrained; Fine being left alone in the home but has only ever been left with other dogs.
Knows: sit, stay, lay down. He knows "off" when we need him to get off of furniture, though he is stubborn to get off of the cozy couch. He can sit and wait for us to say "go ahead" and point to his food when we place his bowl down.
Does the dog have any known health problems?: No
Does the dog like riding in the car?: Yes
Rocco can bark at times so a home understanding of this a must — a home with a couple or single person, or older teens would be ideal. Another dog-friend in the home would be best!
