Frank

Meet Frank!

Fall 2021 Frank was saved along with HFP alumni Ollie & Lyla from life on a chain. Their former owners kept them outside their entire lives and chained them up.

Thanks to loving foster volunteers he now knows good life in a home environment and adapting well.

This is the first time in his life he’s slept on comfy beds, been under a roof (think all those winter and summer days they spent outside prior — never again!) Frank love walks, zoomies and getting belly rubs!

Frank has handling sensitivities that have led to a bite. Most of the time he is happy to receive love and affection but it should be done on his terms and not forced interaction. Short intervals of pets should be followed by pauses to see if he wants the pets to continue. People meeting him and his new owners should not put their face in his face. Although he has had no problems or handling sensitivities or bites to his foster mom, it is important to give him the time to bond and build a relationship and trust. He will love his new owner the same way he adores his foster mom but his new adopter will need to take it slow. The hard part is he appears very happy, wiggly and affectionate and IS a super well behaved dog but practicing consensual pets, giving him space, and building trust are still necessary to transition into a new home.

$250 adoption donation includes: vet exam, neuter, heartworm tested (neg), rabies, DHPP & chip
