Meet Ren!
Ren is an 8 week old female small breed mix (your guess is as good as ours!)
Ren and her siblings were being given away outside of a Dollar General store south of Modesto. A good samaritan secured them then reached out to our rescue to see if we could help. They are in a HFP foster home north of Sac receiving love and care and socialization with humans and dog friends.
We are not sure the exact breed mix but expect them to be under 20 lbs full grown.
Looking for homes with:
— Time to dedicate to all things puppy — plans for continued training, socialization, and positive exposure; daily mental and physical stimulation + commitment to lifelong companionship and care/vetting
Hearts for Paws takes a hollistic approach when placing an animal; we adopt to renters and people who live in apartments as long as proof of pet policies are provided. We believe that yards do not exercise dogs, people do. We are hoping to find people who have done research into adopting a puppy.
—- Preference to homes w/ experience raising dogs OR willingness to enroll in puppy training to get started on the right foot
— Preference (not required) to homes with fenced yards as puppies must stay in the home / private yard until they finish their puppy shot series at 16 weeks
— preference (not required) homes w/ friendly dog role models (dogs must have known history with puppies)
When adopting a puppy, you are also adopting an adolescent, adult and senior dog — a puppy is forever and we are aiming to find homes that will remain committed to adoption for the 15+ years.
$400 adoption donation — includes vetting, first shots, fecal tested/treated, microchip (free lifelong registry), and spay agreement addendum (spay included through HFP in sacramento at 20-24 weeks of age, or $125 reimbursement for proof of spay no later than 24 weeks of age. Adoptions contingent on spay agreement).
