Meet Cash! 50 pound 1 year old spayed & vaccinated female.
About Cash: Cash was found in a home depot parking lot by good Samaritans — the chip scanned back to an owner who did not want her back (originally adopted through a local shelter). The finders cannot keep her due to health issues and have done a great job of caring for and loving Cash since they rescued her.
Cash is a energetic pup and needs continued training (she can get a bit mouthy and has a tendency to jump when over excited). She loves other dogs and is currently living in a foster home w/ 2 large playful dogs.
Is your dog housebroken?: Yes
Specific Behaviors: Can get mouthy when excited or trying to get attention. Also has a tendency to jump on us when she is excited and can play a bit rough.
Does your dog have handling sensitivities? How is your dog meeting strangers?: She can be a bit apprehensive initially but warms up quickly. We’ve had guests in our home before and after a bit of excitement she’d usually settle down.
Does the dog like children?: Yes
Are there children in the home?: No
Where does the dog sleep?: Living room in her bed
Is the dog allowed on your furniture?: Yes
Is the dog crate trained?: No
How does the dog react to being left alone?: Some zoomies if post walk and left alone, otherwise she does very well (we watch her on our surveillance cameras when leaving her).
Please list any particular fears your dog has.: Thunder, fireworks
Describe any training the dog has, tricks it knows, and any experience with a trainer.: Basic obedience commands, we work with a trainer on impulse control and leash behavior. She can sit, down, stay, shake, go to her spot. We are working on leave it and she is doing great at “watch me.”
Does the dog have any known health problems?: No
Does the dog like riding in the car?: Yes
What is the dog's favorite : Balls, bully sticks, antler chews, the hose in the yard. Walks, fetch, tug (we are avoiding tug until we figure out the mouthiness)
What does the dog like?: Belly rubs, naps on her blanket, walking new routes around our neighborhood
What does the dog dislike?: Changes in routine
Does the dog jump kiddie gates or fences?: No
Is the dog a digger?: No
Cash is a very loveable derp that struggles with containing her excitement but she really aims to please. She is a bit fixated on trees/squirels. She benefits greatly from a solid routine. Having lots of things to chew is incredibly helpful in keeping her chilled out.
An adult home with a backyard and a well-matched dog friend would be ideal for Cashew!
