Cooper

Meet Cooper!

Cooper is a 10 year neutered male — friendly with people, has lived with dogs in the past. Housetrained, crate trained.

Cooper loves people! He has gotten to know and is friends with both of his fosters neighbors. When he hears or smells them or his foster coming home he grabs a toy and greets you at the door with it.

He does bark at people walking by the front door/ window or if he hears people outside at night (good guard dog!).

All he wants to do is sit with you and cuddle. He will grab you with his paw and squeeze you if you try to leave (cutest thing EVER.) Likes to sunbathe & be outside but does not love the rain.

Cooper is a very relaxed dog most of the time. He gets excited zoomies when let out in yard sometimes but he is usually very calm.

Cooper sleeps most of day & all night until you wake up. He does love his two 30/40 min (SLOW) walks a day (getting faster each day!). Just wants to cuddle and sit on (yes on) your lap and on the couch with you all day. Total cuddle bug!

We have not seen him around cats (BUT has seen neighbors bunnies in their crate and stands next to them, interested but not aggressive towards them).

Cooper has been fine passing kids on walks. Very tolerant and gentle.

LOVES walks (except when it’s raining!!). He is great on leash. Walks at a very slow pace. Has been very interested in squirrels lately and tries to catch them.

Knows commands such as sit, shake & lay down! (Still working on stay…..)

He is totally fine at home alone for a couple hours (only peed in house once on 1st day where he smelled a previous fosters pee…). He just sleeps on the couch when you are gone. At night he sleeps in a dog bed next to his foster’s bed or in the office or downstairs on the couch.

Cooper is working on being gentle with dogs. As an older dog he is interested in quick greetings but not in playing or extended time around other dogs. Cooper could do well with another older & calm dog in the home if he had a proper & slow intro.

Cooper LOVES the car. Always wants to get in and loves coming along for errands & long car rides.
