Meet Vanilla!
Vanilla is a 70lb, 1.5-2 year old yellow lab mix (probably with husky or shepherd-- true breed mix unknown). He was pulled from a crowded high-kill shelter just before his euthanasia date, so we do not have info on his prior life.
Sweet Vanilla is a boy who likes to party. He is usually seen carrying his "wubby" (his stuffed animals) and wagging his tail, wiggling his entire body, and showing everyone how happy he is. When he came to us a month ago (beginning of the new year) he had a lot of puppy mannerisms such as mouthiness and over-excitement like jumping on people and furniture. That has been since corrected with ample outlets for his mental & physical energy, basic obedience training, and tons of structure. He is also extremely sensitive especially to discipline which we can guess came from negative training methods such as domination methods of training in his early life. Because of this, he can be protective of his people or person so he needs an adult-only home who can continue to expose & train him safely. Showing him that the world isn't all bad, and that he doesn't have to be the protector anymore. He needs patience and calm and consistency in his forever home. He is in foster with cats and is inconsistent with them, so no cats for his forever home.
Here is a list of some of Vanillas great qualities:
