MEET archer (aka archie)!
Rescued from Solano County Shelter where he arrived as a stray. Archie is a sweet, gentle, sensitive boy who is blossoming every day. 4 year 75 lbs of squishy love -- Archie has done well meeting dogs of all sizes both male and female. Archie likes meeting people by being able to sniff them first - given just a few minutes he will start to solicit affection with new people fairly quickly. More about Archie:

-- Moderate energy: would enjoy daily walks and would be the perfect blend of weekend hiking buddy and couch potato chiller
-- Travels well in the car
-- Calm demeanor
-- Archie is still learning that when people leave they will come back from him; he doesn't try to escape or scratch or destroy when you are gone, but he does sadly howl. This behavior will most likely get better with a little bit of time and consistency/a schedule. His howl/bark are not super loud but a home setting may be better than an apartment for this reason

-- Although he has shown no aggressive tendencies, we would recommend an adult or home 12+ kids as sudden fast movements and noises can sometimes startle him. He is tolerant but might enjoy older kids in a home setting.
-- Walks well on leash. However, he can have moments where he pulls strongly if he wants to get to something. Completely non reactive to people, dogs, cars when on leash
-- Currently crate averse. He would do fine separated with baby gates, but does not like to be crated
