Bali

Summary: Bali is a sweet 5-6 year old Sato all the way from Puerto Rico! She was rescued from the side of a busy road in Puerto Rico. Since being rescued, she has gone from being scared to being a happy, tail wagging dog. She is looking for a home that can give her daily walks, a comfortable bed, and lots of love and belly rubs. She will never love anyone more than whoever adopts her. She’s a perfect medium size, at 36 pounds.

Activity Level:  Moderate. Bali is a world class napper! She hasn’t yet learned to play with other dogs or toys.

Daily Exercise Needs: She loves her morning and evening walks.

Current Schedule: Bali gets up around 7 am, and has breakfast, and then goes for a two mile walk. She spends most of the day napping or observing what’s going on around her. She’s happy to sit on the couch with you to keep you company. We work on basic commands several times during the day, keeping the sessions short and always ending on a positive note. She is doing great learning, sit, stay, down and leave it. After dinner she goes on another walk of about 1 ½ miles. She sleeps on her dog bed on the floor of the bedroom.

Housetrained: Yes, sleeps through the night and can go in/out a dog door.

On-Leash: She walks well with a loose leash wearing a harness. She is non-reactive to dogs on her walk, but is distracted by squirrels and flocks of birds. While walking she does like to stop and smell the roses, and the bushes, and the leaf piles…

Experience level of future adopters: Beginning-intermediate. She needs someone who will give her time to adjust to new environment, and continue with her training.

Dogs: She would do well in a home with a calm dog. Energetic dogs are a bit much for her right now. She will take a few days to adjust to other dogs in the home.

Kids: Unsure, but she is very people friendly

Cats: She is working on co-existing with our resident cat. Currently barks at cat but does not hurt.

Personality: Sweet and gentle disposition. Greets everyone with a wagging tail.

Likes/Dislikes: Likes treats and belly rubs.

$300 adoption donation helps cover her flight, spay, vaccines, vetting, microchip, up-to-date on monthly preventatives, and a free wellness exam to Banfield Vet Hospital.
