Hello, I am Sophie! I am a nine year old sweet three-legged collie mix, just about 35 lbs. I came to hearts for paws after my person had to be transitioned into assisted living care. I am now staying in my foster home, where I mostly just love to lounge on comfy dog beds! We are unsure at this time of how I lost my leg, but I am doing just fine with three! I am fully mobile, and while I am shy on the leash and won’t yet go for walks, I love to hop around in the back yard. I LOVE treats- and having been showing off my skills with sit, down, and roll over! In fact, most of the time I roll over for a good belly rub. I am also completely house-trained, and only go to the bathroom outside. I was weary of my one-year-old giant GSD puppy foster brother, but I am warming up to him and am clearly used to being around other dogs. I would love to be in a home where I can snooze and enjoy my person’s company- I already like to follow my foster parents around the house!
Activity Level: Lazy girl, I like to cuddle and snooze. Unsure about walks, but enjoys the back yard.
Housetrained: Fully house-trained!
On-Leash: A this time, Sophie appears very apprehensive on the leash. She may be nervous about the new harness, she lays down and is unsure of walking with harness and leash. May need further work with leash-skills.
Dogs: Dog friendly, plays, chase, and gentle wrestling with foster pup brother.
Kids: Good with kids, was especially interested with tail wags to meet 3-yr-old nephew. Was gentle and excited to get pets!
Cats: unsure.
Personality: Very smart, knows commands. Was immediately interested in dog beds and dog crate. Very gentle and sweet, wants a lot of attention and wants to cuddle up with you. Happy when you come home, excited to see you! Will relax around the house, follow you to different rooms. Have not heard her bark, but she will growl at pup foster brother to set boundaries, no biting or aggression.
