Weylin

Meet Weylin: 4 month shepherd kelpie doberman mix (best guesses to breed):

From his foster mama —

“Whoever adopts him is very lucky, because he is an excellent dog!

He is very friendly and good with people, and a fun and loyal companion. He gets wiggly when he meets someone new and already follows me around like a shadow. He is very playful and interactive, but will also play by himself with a toy to keep busy.

He is very curious about the world, and often stops on our walks to just stand and watch bikes, people, and other dogs. He has been walking nicely on the leash with no pulling! And he has done excellent in the kennel, sometimes willingly going in on his own. He will nap for the 3-5 hours I am gone for class without a problem. He is also making excellent progress on potty training, without any accidents for the past week, and is starting to communicate when he needs to go out to go potty. He also got a bath, which he didn’t really like, but he sat still patiently until it was over.

Whenever he wakes up, he is happy and snuggly and very sweet. He travels really well in the car, and falls asleep almost as soon as we start driving.

He is very smart and food motivated, so will be easy to train with some dedication and consistency. In our first hour, he already learned to sit on command! He’s still very much a puppy, and enjoys chewing on hands as well as jumping up on people, so he will need a home that is committed to training an energetic puppy! He is also a champion human-food-begger and sometimes puts his paws on the table or grab food out of your hand.

Sometimes he gets startled by sudden movement (like shadows) or sounds (like roommate coming home) and will bark a few times until he can understand what is happening. But I definitely think he has huge potential to work through these and become a perfect adventure partner! I feel lucky to have this little guy as my friend!”
