Fred

4 year, 60 lb — neutered, vaccinated, chipped, utd on monthly preventatives

  • Good w/ dogs and people, lives with a cat in foster

  • Playful, active, friendly, well-behaved, well-balanced

  • Housetrained, walks well on leash, travels well in the car

Here’s what his foster has to say:

“Fred is a typical young Husky who loves playing and going for trips. He loves people and playing fetch is his favorite!

He doesn't bark, never showed any attempt of destroying furniture. He does great with other dogs while walking outside, but inside the house, he is dominant so may do best as an only dog or with a well-matched dog.

I normally walk him three times a day, 7-8 in the morning and 7-8 in the evening, plus a very short noon walk since the weather is too hot (Ideally placement in Tahoe or on the coast, or a cooler climate than the valley would be a welcome relief for this breed!).

Fred is also well mannered on leash, walks beside me or slightly ahead of me. He is interested in Davis’ abundance of bunnies and squirrels, however, he is very gentle with cats inside our house, never tried to chase them or anything.

Overall he is a perfect doggy, but Fred will need a home with a flexible work schedule + dedication to working on his separation anxiety. Less than a month out of the shelter, he does a typical Husky howl if he is left alone and will try to get out of the room! We have not yet explored crating with him but it might be a helpful training tool in his future.

Fred is also a picky eater and does not like plain kibble, so an adopter may have to explore mixing of wet food, boiled chicken, or a raw diet.”

Rescued from the Porterville shelter where she was set to be euthanized simply due to time and space.

$300 adoption donation: neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, utd on monthly preventatives.
