Meet Penelope: 3 year old female cattle terrier hound spayed
Penelope is an owner surrender due to no fault of her own. She was purchased off craigslist as a 1 year old dog and is now 3 years old.
Penelope can be shy at first, but warms up to strangers in a few minutes and loves treats.
She has lived with another dog in the past and would do well with an experienced dog person to help her with proper continued social interactions. She used to go to the dog park frequently, but was not a fan (would walk around and avoid the dogs, not aggressive, just understandably an overwhelming place for her — HFP official policy is not an advocate for dog parks due to high chances of bad encounters with other dogs). She does well meeting dogs in one on one settings and is indifferent to passing dogs on leash.
The ideal home will be committed to building a relationship with Penelope and working on bonding, trust, and gaining confidence.
