Hi my name is Petey. I'm a 4 yr old German shepered/Cattle Dog Mix rescued from a shelter in the Central Valley.
When I get really happy, which is about all the time, my cute little nubbin’ tail wags so fast that people are always giving me complements! Not to brag, but I am a strong boy with good energy!! I’m a healthy 65 pounds.
My foster momma likes to joke that I’m an eight month old stuck in a 4 year old body.
My three favorite things in the world are: 1) petting/cuddling 2) being brushed 3) long walks/runs.
Fair warning hoomans: If you sits on the ground, you will be sat on & lavished w/ kisses. You know how it goes — if it fits, i sits!
I am housed trained, but i'm not a big fan of crates. Ew.
I am working on learning not to mouth the humans when I’m in play mode. I pass by dogs without caring much, but the human won’t let me meet new dogs right now because of some type of CO-VIVI thing I keep hearing about, and also she says I need to decompression after shelter stay. Whatever this all means.
I would do just fine as an only dog to get all your love and attention! Also, human food smells so good to be that sometimes I have trouble controlling myself not to beg for it or find it, but I’m learning which food is mine and not. Doesn’t seem fair to me I have to eat the kibble and not the meats but whatever.
The world is SO big and I want to explore it all with you! My perfect family would be one that is super active, can take me on long walks/hikes and play! Someone that will give me plenty of attention.
I love people, so I do not care how big your family is, i'll love anyone in my new forever home.
